New Area!!!

Hey Family,

I am doing good. The big news of the week is that I am transferring. I am going to Juneau. Ha ha. I am excited but sad. I love the ward as in like it was my own family but I hear lots of good things about my new area. My companion is going to be Elder Winterrose. Ha ha. It's funny because when I went to the Seattle temple for the first time and I was renting my clothes I met a lady and she asked me where I was going on my mission. I told her Alaska and well she got all excited and told me her nephew was up there on a mission and his name is Elder Winterrose and she wanted me to tell him hi lol. Small world huh? I will be covering two wards. A YSA (Young Single Adult) ward and a family ward. It will be fun. It is a lot warmer down there then it is here. Yesterday it was -25.
I don't know what I want for my birthday. A new rifle would be great. Ha ha. But really I have no idea. Money is really nice. I am trying to save up my money for a 300 dollar Seal and Otter fur hat. Ha ha. It's so cool and it is warm. I am saving money so I will just take money for my b-day. I am flying to Juneau so I have to down size all my stuff so I can't really get more things to hall around with me ya know. I have not seen the Northern lights yet. We did not get told about the light show until after it was over. I was mad.
That made my day when you told me about Tayla. Ha ha. It was funny. That dog is lucky to be alive. Wow, I kind of miss her. Ha ha.  Yes, Sister Bowser told me about the missionary info card thing. It really sucks cuz I have a lot of people that wanted my info so I have just been writing it on paper and giving it to them. Ha ha. I feel like a hobo.  Anyways I don't know what else to say. We got to see a lot of people this week but it was mostly saying good bye to everyone. Nothing really crazy. I have dinner with the Phipilino lady and her family tonight so that will be good. She can cook some good food. Wooooo. That's how I have put on freaking 30 pounds. Ha ha.  Well I got to get going. I am washing clothes and packing and stuff today. I am sending home two boxes one full of clothes and the other full of letters. Don't read my letters. Ha ha. Well have a good week.

Elder Woolbert

Hey,

I keep hearing from everyone that you got pounded with snow and it has made a big mess. How much snow did you get? So this week was good. We picked up another new investigator this week, and we had five investigators at church. We have not had that many in a long time. It was good to see. Other than that not much happened. Me and my companion spent a whole day cleaning our apartment because it was just nasty. I couldn’t stand it anymore. Now it looks good. Oh and I rode a Musk Ox for like 5 seconds. It was only a four year old and not too big. I didn't want to hurt it so I just rode it for a short ride. I am going to try and get one of the bulls this week. Everyone else was too scared to ride the Musk Ox. The wind had been blowing like crazy this week. It sucks that we get hurricane wind here all the time but you never hear about it in the news because it doesn't matter, we are in Alaska. We had to shovel a lot of snow drifts this week. They are kind of fun to drive through really fast and hope you don't get stuck. I have pulled lots of people out but I have yet to get stuck because I am a good driver.
Well, I don't really know what else to say right now. It was not a very packed week. I hope all is well back home. I pray for you.

Elder Woolbert

Since Ammon keeps talking about Muskox I decided to find a picture. This way you can picture what he is talking about when he says he is going to ride one.

Good Week!!!

Dear Family,

We had a really good week. We had more lessons this week then we have had in a long time. Our efforts are paying off. We also picked up a new investigator, so that's pretty cool. Our teaching pool is growing too. So that Philipino family is doing great. The mom just got back from her trip and it made a big difference in her life. She is so much happier now and is doing good. She texted us the day she got home and said, Elders me and my husband want to be baptized and sealed in the temple. I was totally blown away. Ha-ha. It was so good to hear. The only problem is that the husband does not get home until April. I won't be here, ugh, but the son is going to wait and be baptized with the mom and dad. I am really excited for them. I hope we have another good week. Things are going good. We had a lesson set up this morning at the church but the guy didn't show up so that sucked but oh well we will catch him another day. He won't get off that easy.  Ha-ha.

So I have not ridden the muskox yet. I probably will on Thursday. We got a whole bunch of snow this last weekend and then the wind came in last night and blew all the powder away but we still have lots of ice and snow. Woo. I was laughing when you said you got snow and everyone was freaking out. My goodness. I drive on ice and snow all day long it’s no big deal. It's fun because I can do burn outs and donuts in the church parking lot. Ha-ha. We have competitions with other elders. Shhhhh lol.  I hope you guys are staying warm and safe though. I worry about you and Lindsay driving. Dad is a good driver so I am not worried about him.  Just remember to not be all tensed up. Just relax when you’re driving and it's all good. Sorry I can't email very long I only get a short time to email back.

Mom, I have not seen the northern lights yet. I want to see them so bad but I have not seen them. I also have not got the cards yet with my info in them, so I hope I get that soon. People keep asking me for my info before I leave. I sent out a letter last week you should be getting it soon. Well I got to get going. Love you all. Drive safely. Lol.

Church Volleyball

Hey People back home,

This week was fairly good. We were able to see some less-actives and we got out to see one of our investigators that we have not been able to see in a while. Ha ha. We almost got stuck on the way to his house. The last couple days it has snowed both days and we have almost a foot of new snow and all the back roads don't really get plowed. It's always fun driving in that stuff, but I have not got the truck stuck yet. It's probably because I am a pro driver. Yes that must be what it is. Ha ha.
We have started playing volleyball on Wednesdays and Fridays. On Wednesday at 3:00 we play with the youth and they bring nonmembers and less actives out. It's way cool. On Fridays we play at 7:00 at night with the adults and we do the same thing. We have found a lot of success in this. My companion and I get the most people to come and play almost every week. I am hoping they keep doing this after I leave. Sports are a good way to get people comfortable with the church and elders so we can teach them.
So I tried to ride a muskox but I spooked it and it ran off so I will try again this week. Ha ha .It will be fun. My companion and I are doing good. We don't always see eye to eye but that's normal. He is just a typical Utah kid that really does not know anything and has never been anywhere without at least 200 other Mormons ya know. Ha ha. Plus he likes to argue with everyone but he never wins. Lol. But he is fun. So mom I am doing good. I know you always ask how I am doing and it's because you’re worried about your only little baby boy but I am fine. No worries. I did get the box of vitamins, thank you. They seem to be helping. I think I have enough vitamins to last the rest of my mission. Lol.
We do also go to ward council. It's not very fun but we go. I kind of find it a waste of time up here because the ward does not really care. Their missionary fire is not lit. It is totally out. I have tried and tried but I don't know how to help them.
I am sorry to hear Dad and Caitlin are not feeling well.  That is not good. I have been fighting a cold the last couple days to it sucks. I hope you all get to feeling better soon. So I am working on sending some pictures home soon. I just have a hard time taking pictures anymore because I don't bring my camera with me. I can't leave it in the truck because its  -16 outside and it ruins the camera. I will try and get you a memory card soon ok Mom.
Well I best be getting off now. I hope you all have a good week. Oh I forgot I sent a message to your email mom and it has a picture of a place that is about 2 hours from me. They have been getting pounded with snow. Right now they have over 28 feet of snow this year. They get the most snow out of any other place that is sea level in the world. Ha ha. It is called Valdez. Well God speed family and friends.

Dear Family,

So I got your letters on Saturday and I haven't gotten the box yet. In the letter you asked if I would like business cards. Ha ha heck ya that would be cool to give to people. So our new years was really lame. Maybe one of the most lame ever. We had to be back at our apartment at seven, and we just did nothing. There was no girl to kiss or anything at midnight. How lame. We missed all the hoppin parties. So that was our new year and then we had early morning church at nine. Dang morning church. Ha ha I miss church at 1:00. We are always so busy on Sundays .It is supposed to be a day of rest but not for elders. Doggone.
It has been a pretty cold week here in Palmer. It has been cold every day. Right now is it -18 with the sun shining and it is almost three in the afternoon. Crazy ha ha. I love it though. We had two big lessons this last week and they all flippin fell threw at the last moment. One of them, the guy didn't even show up. It was frustrating. So we just saw some more less actives and ya not very even full. Oh but I did get charged by a muscox and I also slapped it on the butt pretty hard. Ha ha. This week I am going to try and ride one. If I ride a bull a guy that works there will give me 15 dollars. That's good money as long as the bull don't kill me ha ha.
Well I hope this will be a better week for us. I hope the lessons don't fall through. I hope you all have a good week and strive to be the best you can be always.

Love,
Elder Woolbert
